We're so excited to share that Borrow A Village has received its first media coverage, with features in both The Star and the Derbyshire Times ahead of our launch later this year!
Borrow A Village was born from a very personal experience.
After moving back to the UK from New Zealand with my family, I found myself in the same position as so many other parents - trying to find childcare that I could trust. There were Facebook posts, recommendations from friends and various apps, but it often felt time-consuming and difficult to know who would be the right fit for our family.
That's when the idea for Borrow A Village began.
Our mission is simple: to help families find their village.
Rather than acting as a directory of childcare professionals, we're creating a carefully selected community of experienced babysitters, nannies and childcare professionals. Every provider will go through our approval process, including checks such as identity verification, references and an Enhanced DBS, so parents can book with confidence.
At the same time, we're building a service that works for childcare professionals too. Providers remain self-employed, choose their own availability and rates, and we'll carefully match them with families based on their experience and the family's individual needs.
Although we're still preparing for launch, the response so far has been incredibly encouraging. We've already had lots of interest from both families and experienced childcare professionals who share our vision of making childcare simpler, safer and more personal.
